Just got back from Bollin Morris. Was taught two new dances tonight: Cheshire Rounds (Partner-Right-Left-Partner-Left-Right-Stick-Bashing) Dance and Morning Star (Watch-Out-For-The-Hay) Dance. Also danced Welly Boot- (my favourite so far) and… De-de-derrrrr! Lorenz’s Butterfly, which is lovely but tricky. Not got my head around that one yet. Great coaching from Becky, Pete, Ian, Marcia and Karen amongst others; hope they won’t be too disappointed when they find I’ve forgotten it all by next week πŸ˜‰ And the music was beautiful, I was whistling tunes all the way home. Better not let the government know there’s so much fun to be had from Border Morris… next thing, there’ll be a tax on sticks.

Tomorrow: Make more cards for the exhibition in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. They’re selling so well they’ve requested more! Whoot!

  1. Hiya Chrissie πŸ™‚ …re the cards, I should have made it clear, the groups’ cards have sold well! And I have a little hope that some of mine have gone too 0:)

    1. Hi Doris πŸ™‚ It was such fun… the pattern of the stick bashing in Cheshire Rounds dance just makes me laugh to think of it… All in two lines opposite each other slacking sticks in rhythm with the music, but in such a complicated way… and no hard hats!
